The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that the 2020 election resulted in fewer women representing us in the Arkansas Capitol. Even if it was not the case for Republican women, progressive women maintained their previous increased presence, and many attribute that to the “existence of organizations such as the Progressive Arkansas Women PAC, which help recruit and support female candidates.”.

The 28 women running as Democrats made up 40% of the party’s total slate of legislative candidates. The 21 women who ran as Republicans, meanwhile, represented 17% of the GOP’s slate of candidates,” reports John Moritz.
