It’s your time to raise your voices and speak up!

The Arkansas legislature is once again attempting to inject political ideology into public school curricula, this time with the Baby Olivia Act—a bill that mandates the use of an anti-abortion video in classrooms under the guise of fetal development education.

This bill, which will be heard by the House Education Committee at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, February 4th, threatens to undermine science-based sex education in Arkansas schools.

To help you take action, we’ve created the Baby Olivia Act Toolkit with information about this bill. It includes the names and contact information for legislators on the House Education Committee and sample language to use when contacting them.

What is the Baby Olivia Act?

The Baby Olivia Act requires schools to show an animation known as Baby Olivia, a project developed by the anti-abortion group Live Action and its leader, Lila Rose. While the video claims to provide an educational look at fetal development, reproductive health experts have criticized it for presenting misleading and politically motivated content rather than unbiased scientific information. By omitting key aspects of pregnancy and reproductive health, this video promotes an ideological agenda rather than empowering students with medically accurate information.

Why This Matters

Arkansas students deserve fact-based, comprehensive sex education that prepares them to make informed decisions about their health and future. The Baby Olivia Act undermines this by inserting biased and misleading material into the curriculum. Instead of equipping students with medically accurate knowledge, this bill serves as a political tool designed to advance an anti-abortion agenda.

Educational policies should be guided by science and student well-being, not political ideology. If passed, this bill could set a dangerous precedent for further legislative interference in reproductive health education—pushing propaganda at the expense of factual learning.
